Here’s Where To Start

It all begins with your writing sample. Send us five pages of your writing, and we edit it — at no charge. These must be five consecutive pages that you feel represent the work as a whole, but which are not the project’s first five pages, since a manuscript’s opening tends to be more polished than later sections.

Your sample allows us to determine several factors in concert with you:

1. Our edit of your sample will give you a sense of our editorial style and whether it seems appropriate for what you need.
2. Your sample allows us to get a feel for your writing style and overall tone of your current project.
3. We can ascertain what level of editing you need, which in turn enables us to provide you with an estimate of how much time the full edit will take.

Once you’ve reviewed our edit and we’ve discussed the scope of your project, we’ll draw up a simple contract to memorialize our agreement about it. This makes sure you understand our fees at every stage of our work together, so that you’re never surprised by an invoice.
